Learn More About Becoming a Candidate in the Upcoming 2022 Municipal Election

FREE – Candidate Information Session

Ever pictured yourself as a member of Mississauga’s Council or a school board trustee? Now is your chance!

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing along with City staff are hosting a candidate information session. The session is open to anyone interested in running for office or learning more about the upcoming 2022 Municipal Election.

Information will be provided on:

  • Election rules in the Municipal Elections Act
  • Details about becoming a candidate and the Nomination Process
  • Election technology that will be used in the election
  • The Use of City Resources During an Election Campaign Corporate Policy

What:
Candidate Information Session (virtual and in-person)

When:
Friday, April 8 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Location and Registration:

This information session will be held both virtually and in-person.

Virtual Registration
Individuals planning to attend virtually are asked to: register online

The virtual session will be conducted using WebEx and once you register, you will be provided via email a link to join the session.

In-person Registration
Individuals planning to attend in-person are asked to email: election.office@mississauga.ca

In-person session will be held at
Mississauga City Hall – Council Chamber, 2nd Floor

Throughout the session there will be opportunities for both in-person and virtual attendees to ask questions.

Nominations for the 2022 municipal and school board elections open on Monday, May 2, 2022.  Election Day is October 24, 2022.
